Performance and Driveability
The 2023 version of this hybrid SUV comes in two trims: the 4-Door Sahara and the 4-Door Rubicon. Both options come with a 2.0L Turbo PHEV engine with an automatic eight-speed transmission. Both models have 270 hp, but the net power output goes to 375 hp with the hybrid system. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe also has a towing capacity of 1,587kg, and fuel economy in the city is 11.6L/100km and on the highway is 11.9L/100km.
Interior and Exterior Details
Both trims of the new Wrangler 4xe offer the internal space that’s traditional to all Jeep vehicles. There’s plenty of legroom and head space for everyone across five seats. While the upholstery is leather-trimmed for the Sahara, the Rubicon comes with cloth upholstery with blue stitching and the Rubicon’s logo on the seats. Heated seats are available for all trims.
Additionally, buyers get keyless entry and a push start button for both trims. Passengers are also treated with automatic climate control and auxiliary outlets of 115V and 12V outlets. There’s an in-floor storage bin for the rear seats and a full center console. The cargo space can be considerably expanded by folding the backseats.
Buyers will get the same array of headlamps and tail lamps, regardless of their choice of trim. However, there’s a slight difference in the wheel size: the Sahara uses 50.8cm aluminum-painted wheels, while the Rubicon runs on 43.18cm wheels with black pockets.
Fender flares and grilles change in colour depending on the trim. The Rubicon has them black, while the Sahara uses black for the first and body colour for the latter. The Rubicon is also the only one to come with a decal.
Tech and Safety Features
The Jeep Wrangler lineup brings a top-notch array of tech and infotainment features. There’s little difference between the features of each trim in this case.
Both come with Uconnect 4C NAV, wireless connectivity, an 21.33cm touchscreen display, hands-free calling and voice command. There’s also satellite radio available for each trim, which includes a Sirius Satellite Radio, SiriusXM Traffic Plus and Travel, SiriusXM Guardian, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
The lineup comes with an exciting range of driving assists, which include trailer sway control, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), and Electronic Roll Mitigation.
